    Bring your inner child or your wild competitive streak to learn a new (to you!) game within the setting of The Pines home. Dow family letters preserved in our archive and artifacts found within the house inform us about what games the family played to amuse themselves. This is your chance to try your hand at games popular in the early 1900s. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Each session of this reoccurring event will feature a new game.

    Billed as "The Acme of Parlor Games," this 'stockpile' card game is a fast-paced exercise in paying attention with the goal of being the first to play all of the cards in your hand. Flinch has provided limitless opportunities for strategizing and entertainment for over 100 years and was first manufactured and sold by the Flinch Card Co of Kalamazoo, Michigan starting in 1902. Event recommended for ages 10 and up.
